    Description -

    Clotrimazole Topical Solution USP 1% w/v is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antifungal medication used to treat various skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi. It is available both by prescription and over-the-counter (OTC). Wash and thoroughly dry the area before applying. Clotrimazole itself is an odorless, white crystalline substance. The topical solution is designed for application to the skin and is not for use in the eyes (ophthalmic). 

    Indication and Usage +

    • Indicated for the topical treatment of candidiasis caused by Candida albicans and tinea versicolor (pityriasis versicolor) caused by Malassezia furfur.

    • OTC Indications: Primarily used to treat common fungal infections including athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis).

    • Target Fungi: It is effective against species such as Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, and Microsporum canis.

    • Symptomatic Relief: Effectively relieves associated itching, burning, cracking, and general discomfort.
